Lawyer, Father, Mountian Biker and Adventure Racer
We chose Mike for an ambassador because of his love for anything outdoors, from mountain bike racing, to kayaking the local lakes and rivers to trekking through the Sierras. He is also a National Ski Patroller in the winter as well as a year round adventure racer. The one piece of equipment he never leaves home without is a Barkie. “I often go out on adventures that can last from a few hours to a couple of days. The weather can change quickly and having gear that can adapt is critical to staying comfortable – and sometimes surviving.”
And Mike would know, having been lost on the Queen Charlotte Island in Canada for over 3 days in 2006 during Raid the North Adventure Race. “We were wet, lost in the fog and out of food. The only reason we didn’t get hypothermia was that we were able to stay warm enough. Keeping our heads covered with a Barkie was a life saver.” Mike is not just a jock, having been practicing law for 28 years, owning his own small firm and have recently been honored by his peers in Best Lawyers in America. Smart and especially good looking – in his custom Barkie!
This year Mike was captain of Barking Frogs first adventure racing team at the Gold Rush Mother Lode 2013. They had an epic time competing with 15 teams from all over the world, crazy weather changes and lots of awesome terrain challenges. Check out our ADVENTURES page from more info and photos.
